Why Travel to Charleston?

Life in the Lowcountry is sunny and sweet, just ask Bill Murray, or all the travel sites that repeatedly name Charleston the best city in America. What’s our secret? Charleston, South Carolina has something for everyone… and we’re really, really nice.

In Charleston, you can go from island beach life and historic foodie city vibes within a 20 minute drive. I used to work for the City of Charleston, in the heart of it all, and nothing gives me greater joy than helping other plan Charleston travel like a local.

Beat the heat (and traffic) by getting up early for a sunrise, reward yourself with a biscuit and coffee followed by shopping along lower King. Leave time to wander amidst the historic houses and hidden alleys south of Broad Street before stopping off for a drink or two before a local seafood dinner. Take your time, enjoy the Holy City, and get to know the locals – we’re real friendly, y’all.
