A Charleston Happy Hour for Every Day of the Week

January 10, 2022

In theory, there is no right or wrong day to indulge in a happy hour, but some restaurant’s schedules suggest otherwise. Don’t let confusing schedules ruin your otherwise well-deserved drink or snack! Here are some of Charleston’s best and most reliable happy hours to get you through every day of the week:

Monday: Shelter Kitchen & Bar

M is for Monday AND Margaritas and they taste even better when only $3. Head over the bridge to Mt. Pleasant to this chill local hangout with great daily food and drink deals. Finish off your Monday by taking a stroll along Shem Creek Park to watch the sunset.

Happy Hour Deals
Monday- Friday 4-7 PM
$3 Margarita Monday and rotating taco specials
$3 house wines and liquors

Tuesday: The Cocktail Club

Climb up the stairs, collapse into a leather sofa and let someone bring you a fancy featured cocktail. Although the Cocktail Club’s location keeps things pretty crazy on the weekend, it is delightfully low-key for a post-work midweek drink before dinner.

Happy Hour Deals
Monday- Thursday 5-8 PM
Friday 5-7 PM
$5 select craft beer, $6 select red or white wine, $7 featured cocktail

Wednesday: O-ku

Some call it happy hour, I call it the best mid week meal option in Charleston. Ordering some half price sushi and a fancy cocktail helps any hump day and the salmon and lemon roll paired with the Nightwalker will leave you refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the week!

Happy Hour Deals
Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5-7 PM
Half price Makimono (rolled sushi) rolls and $3 off select cocktails

Thursday: Le Farfalle

Nestled on Beaufain Street and filled with string lights, a negroni or aperol spritz at this picturesque osteria may transport you to Italy or just convince you to stay for dinner. If you do, spring for the Squid Ink Spaghetti.

Happy Hour Deals
Monday-Friday 5-7 PM
Cocktail of the Day $6, Draft Peroni $4, Negroni on Tap $7, Aperol Spritz $7
Select Wine for $7
Snacks and small bites from $5-$8

Friday: Edmund’s Oast Exchange

This is the often overlooked third leg of the Edmund’s Oast trifecta that will have you drinking with the neighborhood locals that know and appreciate good beer and wine. Head sommelier Sarah O’Kelley and her team of winos are friendly and accessible, and the intimate set up is a great place to start the weekend right with a friend or two. Don’t let the live jazz music and bubbly on the patio deter you from making it inside and upstairs to check out the wine cave.

Pro tip: There is NO corkage fee EVER and there is an entire section in the wine cave with bottles under $20- so it is literally always happy hour at the Exchange!

Happy Hour Deals
3-5 PM 7 days a week
$4 draft beer, plus 1 red, 1 white, 1 sparkling
Half price crowlers
$10 flutes of bubbly and live music (Fridays only)

Saturday: Barsa

Repeat after me: “ If I go to Charleston, I swear to only order paella from Barsa.” This is the OG Spanish tapas and paella spot in Charleston, located on upper King way before the district was filled with bars and clubs. Start your Saturday night with your crew sipping on a discounted glass of tinto or cava while patiently waiting for your massive dish of paella to “soccarat” (Portuguese for char).

Pro tips: The large paella easily feeds 6 people, and there is free parking!

Happy Hour Deals
Wednesdays- Sunday 4-7 PM (Barsa is currently closed on Mondays and Tuesdays)
$1 off beer
$3 off glasses of wine
$3 of house liquor

Sunday: Edmund’s Oast Brewing

I would venture to say that Power Hour at Edmund’s Oast Brewing is a city-wide holiday at this point.I mean… half price EVERYTHING seven days a week…it just can’t be beat. They even used to sell their merch for half price until they found out people were buying their clothing items and marking them up on ebay (seriously folks?!?! Way to ruin a good thing for everyone). Plus, the outdoor green space makes for the perfect place to lounge around with a big group of friends or let the kids play while mom and dad partake in a pitcher or two, followed by a pizza!

Happy Hour Deals
Power Hour from 4-5 PM every day of the week
All food and beer is half price, including pitchers.
